The main goal of the Center for Technologies is to create and develop an environment for conducting innovative scientific research, with the goal of industrial implementation of new biotechnologies in both Bulgarian and international companies. Center for Technologies aims to:

– Stimulate the development of scientific research in the fields of molecular biotechnology, environmental technologies, and environmental ICTs, focusing on their practical application and multiplication in real-world practice to achieve economic outcomes;
– Create an appropriate environment for transferring the results of innovative scientific research into the working economy;
– Establish conditions for cooperation and collaboration among specialists from different fields;

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Internationally, intellectual property is understood to include industrial property, copyright, and related rights. It covers the products of human intellect. The goal of IP protection is to encourage innovators to create, invent, and discover new knowledge and information. From the economical point of view, since scientific knowledge and new ideas are public goods, a lack of protection would suppress innovation incentives and keep investment in research and development below optimal levels. Innovators often refrain from registering patents due to the complexity of the \u00a0procedures, high fees, and\u2014as is still the case in Bulgaria and other Eastern European countries\u2014the inability of enforcement institutions to adequately protect granted IP rights. However, many do not realize that, beyond patents, there are alternative forms of protection that can offer nearly equivalent safeguards. The Technology Transfer Office has developed expertise in intellectual property protection.
